Of the main rivers, only four are included in this study.
1/Wollangambe River..2/the Grose River 3/ Coxs and Wollondilly Rivers in the south.
Many of the rivers are now slightly polluted due to mining leaching and sewerage. but conditions are slowly improving.

Due to changing localised weather patterns the area is seeing lower river and dam levels at this stage, but the dams should start to refill as we move towards winter.
